LeBron Raymone James Sr. (born December 30 1984) is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The nickname is King James he is widely thought of as one of the most successful players of all time and is often compared to Michael Jordan in debates over the best basketball player of all time. James was awarded four NBA championships and four NBA MVPs Three All-Star MVPs, and the two Olympic medals. James has scored the second most career goals and seventh in assists. He has been selected as an NBA All Star 18 times. Additionally, as an NBA All-Star, James was selected as a member of the NBA All-NBA Team on 18 occasions. He has been a part of more than 10 NBA Finals, the third-most in history. It was eight in a row between 2011-2018. James was chosen to be part of the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team for 2021. He became the NBA's first player to score 10,000 points, rebounds and assists in 2022. James played basketball at St. Vincent St. Mary High School within his home town in Akron Ohio and was heavily touted by the national media for his potential as an NBA star. As a prep to pro his dream, the Cleveland Cavaliers chose him as the first pick overall in the NBA draft of 2003. He was named the NBA rookie of the year in 2004. He soon became one of the best players of the NBA and was awarded an NBA MVP Award both 2009 and 2010. James, who was unable to win the championship in Cleveland, in the year 2010, was released as a free agent and signed with his team the Miami Heat. This was revealed by the book The Decision. It is one of the most controversial decisions made by a sports free-agent in time.
