Belknap is from Damariscotta the state of Maine. She is a daughter of David and Louise Belknap. She was a student at Lincoln Academy in Newcastle Maine. Her interest in acting grew during her time at Middlebury College, Vermont. She was a part of the American Conservatory Theater awarded her a master's in fine arts. The credits on her television show include regular roles on Medical Investigation (related to ER and Third Watch) and The Handler as well as a regular role in Deadline as well as guest-starring roles for Law & Order Law & Order Special Victims' Unit and Without a Trace.
