Jessica Chastain (born Jessica Chastain) is an acclaimed American actor, filmmaker and feminist. She has played the role of strong women in films which feature feminist themes. She has been nominated for two Oscars and has been the recipient of an award called the Golden Globe Award. Born in California located in the US, she developed an interest in acting after she saw the play "Joseph and The Amazing Tecnhicolor Dreamcoat'. The stage debut she made professionally was in the play "Romeo and Juliet" and then she made her first film appearance with her role in the drama film "Jolene". Her roles in movies including Take Shelter', "The Help", Mama', as well as 'Interstellar', she became more popular. She received the Golden Globe Award for her role in 'Zero Dark Thirty and was awarded the award for "Best Actress". Her most well-known role is the portrayal of strong and flawed women. Many of her characters are known as they advocate for feminist ideals. Her voice is flamboyant and she's who stands up for gender equality in wages. TIME magazine named her one among the world's most powerful people in 2012.
