Jill Hennessy
The resident from Edmonton, Alberta has a diverse ancestry spanning Irish, Italian, Swedish, French and Ukranian. Her twin sister, Jacqueline is an actress. While growing up, Jill became fluent in different languages such as Italian, French and Spanish. After she turned twelve years of age, Jill started to get interested in acting. She began her acting career in Toronto in the role of an actress in David Cronenberg's Dead Ringers, along with her younger sister. She then studied improv comedy in Second City under Deb Kimmet. They relocated back to New York two years later and signed a contract to play the role of Detective Assistant Claire Kincaid in the hit lengthy-running show Law & Order. In addition, she appeared in movies including RoboCop 3 (1998), Ron Howard's The Paper (2000) and I Shot Andy Warhol 1996) over the course of her three-year stint. Her work was featured in a couple of forgettable films over the following months, and then landed as the lead in the miniseries uremberg alongside Alec Baldwin. The roles in the major series such as Autumn in New York and Exit Wounds followed. The actress was offered a leading role in the NBC crime show Crossing Jordan. And in 2007, in recognition of her contributions to the show she was recognized by Gracie Allen as the "Outstanding Female Lead in a Drama Series". In 2000 she married another actor Paolo Mastropietro. The couple have two children. In 2007, she was inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame in 2007.
